Diorama of the Boeing B-29 Superfortress
Here is a video tour of a Monogram kit I built for a customer of the Boeing B-29 Superfortress. This specific B-29 corresponds to serial number 44-68674. During World War II, it was part of the 505th Bombardment Group, the 484th Squadron. The 505th Bombardment Group had a Circle with a “W” on the tail. The model was customized with its nose art and the names of the pilot and co-pilot.
I used chrome enamel paint on the model, and panel sections were covered with aluminum foil. Weathering effects were added specifically around the engines and wings. Panel lines were accentuated using a #2 pencil. The diorama has a section of an airplane parking area, vegetation, and ground personnel.
